INTINERARY
DAY 1: CUSCO - CACHORA – CHIQUISCA.-
Depart by
bus early in the morning from Cusco to Cachora our start point
of the hike we will get mules to carry our packages and start
the hike descending to canyon of the Apurimac river, campsite at
Chiquisca 1900m.
DAY 2: CHIQUISCA – CHOQUEQUIRAO.-
We descent
for 1 hour and then go up to the village of Santa Rosa after
this we will stop at Marampata for lunch and then continue to
Choquequirao 3,000m there You will have the afternoon to explore
this truly mystical site of the Incas.
DAY 3: CHOQUEQUIRAO - MAIZAL.-
At the
morning easy climb to Choquequirao mountain pass 3,300 m and
then we will continue going way down to Pinchi Unuyoc and Rio
Blanco the lunch place and then we go way up to Maizal at 3150m.
DAY 4: MAIZAL - YANAMA.-
The hardest
day of the trek we have to climb to .Mina Victoria 4000m. and
then to Victoria pass 4400m. from this point we have an amazing
view of the mountains including Salkantay and Humantay , the
descent takes us to many abandoned working Inca silver mines. We
camp at the village Yanama 3,400m.
DAY 5: YANAMA - COLLPAPAMPA.-
An easy day
hike with another pass at 4,550m. and then continue going down
to Hornopampa, Totora and Collpampa 2,800m. (camp site) place
where we can have a natural bath in the hot springs. Trekking
Specialists in Cusco.
DAY 6: COLLPAPAMPA - SAHUAYACO.-
Another easy
day to enjoy the cloud forest and small farms our trek finishes
at Sahuayaco known also as La Playa 2,000m.
DAY 7: SAHUAYACO - LLACTAPATA -MACHUPICCHU.-
After
breakfast we go through coffee, cacao, abocado, banana, oranges,
flowers farms, and we continue to Aobamba pass 2,800m, and then
we will visit the Llactapata Inca Archeaological site from this
place, we have the views of Machupicchu ruins and the Salkantay
mountain. We descent for 3 hours to the hydroelectric station on
the UrubambaRiver and later take the train to Machupicchu 2,000.
DAY 8: MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO.-
Today we
will take the bus to Machu Picchu, for a guided tour of the site
(2hrs. approximately) and then you will have time to climb the
mountain of Hayna Picchu that overlooks the ruins. Return to
Aguas Calientes at about 2pm to take the train back to Cusco.
