Trek Ancascocha Machupicchu 5 Days 3 Nights

Thousands of people come to Peru each year to hike the classic Inca Trail, give the restricted number of daily permits; the Inca Trail is in high demand, often booking out 5-6 months in advance during high season. This hike is a great option to the classic inca trail dominated by glaciers and a glut of peaks above 5000m, special trekking of 4 days for good hikkers, if you love the adventure and mountains this option is for you.



Day 1: Cusco – Soqma – Chancachuco

We depart from Cusco in the morning at 06:00 and drive 2 ½ hours. to Soqma (3,205 m / 10,512 ft) located next to the sacred valley this is the starting point of our Trek and is the pace where we meet the horsemen that will join us during the hike.

We will begin the hike of 1 hour approx. to the Perolniyoc waterfall lookout a special place to take pictures and enjoy of the landscape.

Then we will hike going up 1 hr. until to the Inca ruins of Perolniyoq where we will explore after that we contin ue to a Rayan a small andena community where we have the lunch, then after lunch, we must continue for 3 hrs. to Kuychi Qas´ssa mountain Pass (4,400mtasl 14,100 ft) From here it is possible to see the Sacred Valley and all the snow caped moutains, and 1 hr. down is the camp site of Chancachuco.

Day 2: Chancachuco – Ancascocha - Muyumuyu.

After the breakfast We depart at 07: 00 for a 4 hours uphill trek with incredible views of the snow-capped peaks, glaciers, lagoons and llamas, andean falcons, here we have the amazing views of the Chancachuco Valley on one side of the pass and the Sacred Valley of the Incas on the other side.

Then we start our descent of 2 hours to the location where we will take the Chancachuco valley our lunch break.

After lunch, we will ascend for 30 minutes following and ancient trail special to be in harmony with the nature dominated by the mountains and glaciers.

We then descend 3 hours to the small community of Ancascocha (3,700 m/12,136 ft.) We have the camp site here.

Day 3:  Muyu Muyu community - Paucar Cancha.

Another long day for enjoy the hike because the way goes nearby glaciers and old Inca sites we hike along an original Inca trail (the first inca trail comming from Cusco)

Form this point we will walk going down 3 hours to Muyu Muyu our lunch place, during this narrow of the trek we will have beautiful views of old Andean communities communities where the people live like since centuries the Suyt´tu Rumiyoq and Qéska Then we’ll arrive to our campsite in the Paucar Cancha Aqueological area (3,000 m/10.000 ft).

Day 4:Paucarcancha – Pisqa Cuchu– Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

From Paucar Cancha we will descend for 1 hour to Huayllabamba community the first camp site for the classic Inca trail then we continue 1 ½ hrs. to the Inca site of Llaqtapata. We will have a guided visit tour of the site.

After the tour we will hike for 3 hours until to reach the Km 82, which is the start of the classic Inca trail. Along the way we will be able to see diferent Inca sites, We have the lunch at Pisqacuchu Community.

After lunch we will go 1 hr. by bus to Ollantaytambo (2,792 m/9,158 ft) where we will catch the train to Aguas Calientes town and transfer to your hotel.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

After the breakfast in the hotel, we go ½ hr. by bus to Machu Picchu, for a walking tour in the site (2 ½ hrs. approximately) visiting the temples, palaces and interesting places

then you will have time to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu that overlooks the ruins. Return to Aguas Calientes at about 2pm to take the train back to Cusco.
