This 3 days trek up to the startling glacial lakes of Halancoma and Tastyuc,  with a beautiful stroll along a glacier. Llama shepherds help with the toughest stages of this challenging, often barren hike; mostly in the 4000m-4200m contours. You will finish by descending to some old Inca ruins then continue to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo and then transfer by train to Machu Picchu.

The Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu is the best alternative to the Inca Trail. It has huge picturesque snow-capped mountains, lush lowland jungle and old Inca ruins. On the route the first two days are dominated by the impressive mountains of Salkantay and Huamantay on the third day you descend to the warm cloud forest, to reach Aguas Calientes on the fourth day. You visit Machupicchu on the last day.

With beautiful scenery and landscapes, you will visit and enjoy the hot springs of Cocalmayo, and join up with the original Inca Trail from Lucmabamba on the second day hiking the original inca trail from Lucmabamba to Llactapata ruins, the last day visit Machupicchu.
