MAGICAL MACHU PICCHU & QUELCCAYA GLACIER 7 DAYS/ 6 NIGHTS
Adventure program to explore and learn about Cusco and Machupicchu with its monumental architecture and ancient culture. We will also visit and learn about the high Andean landscapes of the Andes Mountains and glaciers that were revered by the Incas, visit ancient villages and their culture that survives through time, it is also an excellent adventure to practice mountain photography.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: CUSCO CITY TOUR:
We will meet you at the airport to transfer to hotel Urpi Inn, In the afternoon from 13:30 we will start the Cusco tour through the city and the archaeological centers that surround the city. We will visit the Inca temple of Koricancha the Temple of the Sun, located in the center of the city. Then we continue visiting Sacsayhuaman, which is a spectacular Inca Temple, where the Incas practiced ritual offerings and sacrifaces. We will visit the archaeological centers of Qenqo Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, the city tour ends approximately at 18:30 hours, then will be taken to your hotel to visit the Qosqo Native Art Center, where you will appreciate the show of traditional music and dances of Cusco.
DAY 2: TREK PEROLNIYOC INCA RUINS & ÑAUPA IGLESIA
We leave Cusco at 07:00 in private transport and go 1 hour to the community of Socma (3650 meters above sea level) from where we begin the 2-hour walk to reach the Perolniyoc waterfall, after visiting this place we continue climbing for another hour until we reach the archaeological group of Raqaypata, which is a beautiful Inca complex in which we can see its ceremonial center, the food deposits, the priests’ homes, the cultivation terraces and the food deposits.
After visiting this Inca ceremonial center we return to Socma and continue the 30-minute walk to Ñaupa Iglesia, a great ceremonial center, a mystical place par excellence, where we can feel a great energy emanating from this Inca temple, then we walk for half an hour to pick up our transportation and continue to the Inka town of Ollantaytambo, we will walk through its streets full of history and we will walk for an hour to visit the ruins of Pinkulluna, which presents a large number of buildings that were used as qollcas or food warehouses, we will have a complete view of the ruins of Ollantaytambo.
After dinner we spend the night in the town of Ollantaytambo.
DAY 3: TOURS TO MACHU PICCHU:
After the breakfast at the hotel, we go to bus station to travel by bus for 1/2 an hour to visit the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. The Lost City of the Incas is a stone city constructed using sophisticated techniques, with exquisite detail worthy of being one of the seven wonders of the world you will appreciate the temple of the Sun, water fountains,the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters then descend by bus to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon and take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting for you, to transport you by bus to Cusco and drive you to your hotel.
DAY 4: WAQRAPUKA RUINS
Very early at 05:30 we leave Cusco, in private transport for 2 hours to the town of Cusipata where we have breakfast, then we continue 1 hour to Sangrará, a beautiful colonial town from where we take the 40-minute detour to Accopampa (3350 masl) which is the starting point of the walk.
After a short rest, we begin the 2 ½ hour walk. On the way we see the Apurimac canyon, the mountains of the Andes mountain range, high Andean lagoons, alpacas and llamas that the inhabitants raise for their daily sustenance.
Arriving at Waqrapukara we have a 2-hour guided tour where we can appreciate the different constructions that this wonder has. At the end we return by the same road to our transport to return to Cusco.
DAY 5: TOUR RAINBOW MOUNTAIN & QUELCCAYA GLACIER
We leave Cusco in a private transportation very early at 05:30 and go to the community of Cusipata where we have breakfast, then we continue to the starting point of the trek 45 minute walk to the viewpoint of the colorful mountain, we also appreciate the Red Valley, then we return to continue our transportation to the community of Phinaya where we spend the night in the camp at 4200 meters above sea level, on the route We will appreciate the Sibinaqocha lake.
DAY 6: QUELCCAYA GLACIER – CUSCO
After breakfast at the camp we begin the 5-hour walk to the glacier, we ascend to the Yanaorcco pass (4350 meters above sea level) from this place we have a complete view of the Blanca lagoon and the snow-capped Chimbuya, having the glacier as a point of departure. reference we walked 3 hours until we reached the turquoise lagoon and then to the snowy mountain itself. We visited the ice caves and the top of the glacier.
We return to the camp along the same path and after a rest we return to Cusco where we arrive at 8:00 p.m.
DAY 7: TRANSFER OUT
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport according to your fly time.
